FRIGID New York's continuing mission is to seek out new art, new artists, and new audiences. We do this by creating an accessible community of varied voices that value collaboration, resourcefulness, diversity, and innovation. We provide a home for independent theater artists, with a focus on voices that require amplification. We nurture their development, and we help to establish their careers by promoting their work to local, national, and international audiences. ​​

How Artists are Accepted

the first 28 are first come first served and the next 32 are drawn from a hat, for a total of 60 shows.  this year we are making room for 5 BYOV shows that are all sharing one venue.

Benefits of Applying

​Awards System:  Award show at the end of the festival
Reviews Situation: mostly online.
Billeting Situation: non existant
Artist Comp Policy: artists get free standby tickets to all festival shows.

Tech Information

All theaters have well stocked set rep plots and good sound equipment.

Performance Schedule

Locals get 4 performances, out of towners get  5.  weekdays start with 6pm shows weekends start around noon.  latest shows start at 11pm
